Kolkata: West Bengal education department on Wednesday extended the deadline till 10th July for students seeking admission in Colleges. Development comes after the department received complaint against admission process.
Earlier, In a crackdown on those extorting money from students seeking admission to colleges, the police arrested four TMCP leaders from two colleges in last 24 hours. They were charged with extorting money from candidates for admission to undergraduate courses and misappropriation and cheating. The union satraps,who were unperturbed by the state’s tough talk, have been caught unawares by the cop crackdown.
Two TMCP leaders, Sayan Mukherjee and Zahir Ahmed of southKolkata’sPrafulla Chandra College, were held after they allegedly promised a candidate admission againstRs25,000.
