New Delhi: A woman and her male friend, both working in a call centre, were shot at by a man, who then tried to kill himself in South Delhi on Saturday night.
The incident took place around 9.45 pm and all the three were rushed to AIIMS, police said.
The victims identified as Kajal and Jatin Sarkar worked together at a call centre in Noida. They were talking outside a park in the area when the accused walked up to them and allegedly got into an argument with them and later fired at them, they said.
The man, 22, son of a Central Industrial Security Force or CISF constable, had been allegedly stalking the woman and allegedly used his father’s licenced revolver to shoot at the victims.
Police said that Jatin had gone to meet the woman along with his friend Alok who managed to escape and informed police.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
Mr Sarkar and Kajal have sustained bullet injuries on their abdomen and chest respectively, while the accused fired at his forehead.
