St Pauls College Ragging Case: All 5 Accused Arrested

Kolkata: All five accused in St Pauls College, student ragging case have been arrested on Tuesday by Amherst street police. The five accused are Arnab Ghosh, Abdul Kaiyum Molla, Seikh Inamul Halk, Abijit Doloi and Ananta Pramanik.

According to police, these five culprits were gathered at Jagat cinema hall area in North Kolkata to hire a lawyer for advance bail on Tuesday. According to a tip off, cops raided and arrested them from the place.

The incident, which took place on 17 May, came to light after a video clip of the act went viral on social media. The video showed the student pleading for mercy inside the student’s union room of the college, even as he was stripped naked in front of a group of people.

Soon after the incident was reported in early June, West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee had said that “strict action” would be taken against those who were involved in the act.
