Kolkata: The SSC candidates who are carrying on their fasts have accused the police of breaking their promise on Wednesday. The candidates were staging an indefinite hunger strike from the last 15 days.

Protesters claimed that the police had assured them of a meeting with CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday during their protest rally at Karunamoyee. Police later refused to entertain any such demand.

A four member group representing the protesters, visited the Joint CP and DC Headquarter of Bidhannagar Commissionerate on Wednesday.

Another group of protesters also went to the Nabanna Building and delivered a deputation to the CM to end the stalemate in negotiation.
