Kolkata: Bengal’s Brand Ambassador Shah Rukh Khan returned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s gift of a luxury apartment as a form of payment for shooting a documentary on West Bengal tourism.
Shah Rukh Khan was made the brand ambassador of Bengal by Mamata Banerjee after coming to power. The government has roped in Shah Rukh Khan for making a documentary on West Bengal. When SRK rejected to take any payment for his work, Mamata decided to gift him a flat worth Rs. 2 Crore.
But our ‘Dilwale’ Badshah has also returned to accept the flat as a gift and only wanted to eat fried fish as a gift. Khan says that the fish would be the biggest gift to him. He didn’t forget to mention that the love he receives from the people of Kolkata is the real payment he gets.
The flat which was chosen for him was a larger than 4000 Sq. feet apartment opposite to Eco park’s gate no. 1 in Rajarhat, Kolkata. The apartment belongs to a project named Westin, by Shristi Group. The luxury project has restaurants, big apartments, office space and world class fitness centres. It will also have a helipad and world class security systems.
