Srinagar-Ladakh National Highway closed for landslides

Srinagar: The Srinagar-Ladakh National Highway which connects Ladakh with Kashmir has remained closed on Saturday due to landslides in Gund tehsil in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

The restoration work of road stretches damaged and blocked due to landslides is underway. Four persons were killed in a series of cloudbursts that struck on both Baltal and Pahalgam routes of the Amarnath Yatra.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway, has already pressed into service sophisticated machine and men to clear the landslides and put the highway through.
