New Delhi: India is hosting FIFA’s heavyweight under 17 world cup this year which was unimaginable to many previously. India has made a dream come true for the sake of Indian football and its development. This has encouraged the possibility to host the 2032 Olympics in India, which is known to be the ‘greatest show on earth’. Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is likely to bid for hosting the 2032 Olympics in the country.
IOA president N. Ramchandaran has said “Central Government has promised to cooperate and help the Olympic association in organizing the event”. Accordingly the association is making plans and strategies. However, everything is in the preliminary stages and further steps will proceed after the central approves the road map. N Ramchandaran said that it will take 6 to 8 years to imply the plan practically.
Ramachandran was very confident about the bidding for the Games.
“It (the process) will take at least anywhere between six to eight years. It can be done easily. If you look at today’s cost, it roughly comes to about USD 12 million, out of which roughly 50 percent you get by way of revenue and funding from the IOC.”
