Hyderabad: The chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Islamic State module case in Hyderabad has revealed many appalling facts.
One of the arrested suspects, who is an engineer, told the NIA that his handler directed him to carry out ‘lone wolf attack’.
The NIA chargesheet mentions that the engineer-turned-suspected Islamic State operative was told by his handler that if ‘you are unable to kill them, if you fail to carry out attacks, spit on their faces’.
On December 22, the investigating agency filed a chargesheet against Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi, Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani, Habeeb Mohammed, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan, Yasir Naimathullah, Mohammed Attaullah Rahman and Abdul Raoof- all suspected members of Hyderabad ISIS module busted in June this year.
As per the Investigative agency an unknown handler was in constant touch with one of the accused, Ibrahim Yazdani.
The handler motivated Hyderabad-based eight-member group to carry out different kinds of terror activities and attacks across the country.
Investigation revealed that a Jordanian national identified as Al Suhagan Al Abudi played a crucial role and radicalised India-based Ibrahim Yazdani.
Abudi made Ibrahim listen Syrian President Bashar Al Asaad’s ‘anti-Sunni’ speeches and comments several time and convinced him to join Islamic state, says NIA chargesheet.
NIA probe also revealed that one of the handlers of Ibrahim, identified as Abu Issa Al Amriki further convinced him to carry out terror strikes across India.
NIA has also named Amriki as an accused along with another Syria based unnamed handler. NIA chargesheet also says that Ibrahim tried to go to Syria twice through Greece- first time in 2015, when he was denied a visa.
In January 2016, lbrahim Yazdani made yet another attempt to go to the lSlS controlled area. He applied for admission into the Aydin University, Turkey for a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
NIA also recovered a note in which accused persons pledged Bay’ah (allegiance) to the Caliphate of Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi, the leader of the lSlS.
