Kolkata: After the Durga Puja celebrations the city of joy is all set to celebrate Kali Puja or Diwali which is on 19th October that is next Thursday.
As the celebrations are not that far away one can see the excitement all around. The large number of crowds that comes out on the roads to pay homage to Goddess Kali sometimes becomes unmanageable for the authorities.
The West Bengal administration is on its way to set up a 24 hour control room from 19th October to 22nd October at the state secretariat, Nabanna.
An officer of the level of joint secretary and an officer from the Disaster Management Department will be in charge of the control room. As it will be open 24 hour they will take care of any disaster immediately. Not only in the Nabanna but also every districts will get a 24 hour special control room during the 4 days celebrations.
People can file any complaint including any issues with the fire crackers to the special control room which will be headed by a special disaster management team.
