Kolkata: On the occasion of Gangasagar Mela, West Bengal Transportation Corporation and South Bengal State Transport Corporation have started the bus services from Friday which will continue till January 17.
As per the version of Transportation department, total 1595 government buses will be on service in Gangasagar route. Bus fare has been fixed on the basis of government rules. Private and Public both will be available to go to the fair.
Like previous year, State Transpoartaion department is running extra buses on the ocassion of the Gangasagar Mela from Bau Ghat, Outram Ghat, Lot No 8 and Namkhana. Total 106 vessels will be on service including the public and private sector. In emergency cases, helicopter will be on service.
Reportedly, from Howrah to Lot No 8 rent has been fixed Rs 75. From Outram Ghat it is 70 rupees. From Babu Ghat to Namkhana it’s 75 rupees. Horah to Namkhana it is 80 rupees. Lot No 8 to Kochuberia 45 rupees. Namkhana to Benubon 85 rupees.
There is a report saying that, agter the completion of Gangasagar Mela, the Public and Private bus services will be reduced in many routes.
