Mumbai: Samajwadi party leader Mohammed Farooq Ghosi, who is also the Vice President of Maharashtra state unit of the party, has wrote a letter to Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to nominate 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon’s widow Raheen as a Rajya Sabha MP. Yakub was hanged in Nagpur Central Jail on Thursday morning.
Ghosi said, “Raheen was in jail for many years. How much she would have suffered.. Today I find Raheen helpless and there are many such Muslims in the country who find themselves helpless and for whom we have to fight for. We should make Raheen a Rajya Sabha MP and make her the voice of weak and helpless people.”
Ghosi has also termed the timing of the letter wrong saying that he should not have written a letter to SP chief Mulaym Singh Yadav. He said that it was not proper time to write such a letter.
