Gangarampur: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday inaugurated a slew of projects for Dakshin Dinajpur district during a public programme and said will set up a new university in Dakshin Dinajpur district. She also laid the foundation stones of several projects.
Among the projects inaugurated were Waiting Hubs for pregnant women, AC ambulances, nine renovated roads, five clusters of tube-wells, office of the newly-constituted Integrated Tribal Development Agency in Buniadpur, a Panchayats and Rural Development Department building, etc.
Foundation stones were laid for a seven sub-health centres, tube-wells, boys’ hostels for tribals, eight check dams, multi-gymnasiums, etc. Besides these, Mamata Banerjee distributed the benefits of schemes like Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi, Swasthya Sathi and Gitanjali, relief for farmers affected by natural disasters, Kisan Credit Cards, etc. Several senior ministers and local leaders were present during the function.
