Balurghat: District Magistrate of Dakshin Dinajpur Sanjay Basu was transferred after the issue of former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly’s statue was not erected at Balurghat Stadium following an objection from the district administration.
As per report the local people and political leaders has very offended when the statue couldn’t be installed due to the objection from the district administration. Some allegations also against Sanjay Basu for create factional feud.

As per report, it is also a trend of every year in Balurghat that something new happened in time of ‘Sahid Diwas’. At Friday night Nabanna send transfer letter to the DM of Dakshin Dinajpur Sanjay Basu. West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Executive Secretary IPS Sharad Kumar Dibedi will take charge of Dakshin Dinajpur DM, from Nabanna source.
Sanjay Basu will be transferred to the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation as an Executive Secretary. Sanjay Basu acknowledged his transfer news, but he totally denied all allegation which against him.
He explains the reasons behind his transfer, he said ‘His parents are old and they are very ill. I am applying for transfer for a long time period in Kolkata’. They accept my request.
