Mumbai: With the name of Sourav Ganguly doing the rounds as the new coach of India, it was Ganguly himself on Thursday who poured frigid water on the speculation. Sourav said that, instead of coaching, he is more keen to concerntrate on cricket administration at the moment. However, he did not deny any reports on his eagerness or possibility of taking up the responsibility.
Another name doing the rounds is Rahul Dravid but the cricketer couldn’t be reached for his views. Sourav had even commented that he and Rahul ‘fit’ for India coach.
Earlier, according to a report in The Indian Express, a Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) insider has revealed that the former India captain has put in an informal word to the new BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya about his interest to replace Duncan Fletcher, whose tenure as India coach ended after the World Cup.
The BCCI will sit for a meeting regarding he coach of India on April 26. Apart from the two aces of Indian cricket, Ravi Shastri has been in the fray also. From sources, it is learnt that Dhoni has referred the name of Mr. Cricket, Michael Hussey.
