Somdev Varman Retires From Professional Tennis

New Delhi: Somdev Devvarman received the Arjuna award in 2011.

Indian tennis professional tennis player Somdev Devvarman announced his retirement on Sunday.

Somdev had made three consecutive finals at the NCAA. His win-loss record at the NCAA men’s tennis championship is 44-1.

Somdev’s biggest moment at the ATP World Tour was reaching the final of the Chennai Open in 2009. He also won the gold medal in the men’s singles event of Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. He also won the men’s singles and doubles gold at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou.

Somdev received the Arjuna award in 2011.
