Smugglers arrested at Jalpaiguri with Leopard skin


Jalpaiguiri: Forest department officials arrested two Bhutanese smugglers along with a leopard skin and seized many other smuggled parts belonged to endangered species.

Teja Wangchuk and Sijoy Norbu were arrested by officials of Baikunthapur forest range from Udlabari railgate area on Sunday night. Ranger of Belakoba range Sanjay Dutta said that the items were supposed to be smuggled to Nepal via Siliguri.

The arrested will be produced at the Jalpaiguri court on Monday.
