Singapore Students Visits Baruipur Incense-Stick Factories


Baruipur: Four students team of ESSEC business school, Singapore, has visited Baruipur of South 24 Pargana to see the Small and Medium industries infrastructural issues on Thursday.

The students have visited incense-stick factory in Sakharipukur of Baruipur. They had a talk with the Small & Medium industries departments’ district officials to discuss the present situation regarding the business.

The incense-sticks made in Baruipur is famous and has acceptance in the whole world. It used to get exported in Italy, America, Egypt and Brazil. More than 50 thousand people are involved in this profession. in the North section of the district, there are tentative four hundred incense-stick factory unit in Fooltala, Sakharipukur, Sashari, Jayatala, Dhopdhopi.

The students expressed interest after seeing its acceptance in a major aprt of the world. They also met Baruipur BDO Anirban Dutta and discussed in this regard.

The students also interacted with the people involved in this profession and thoroughly documented entire process. All four students will research on production of pollution free incense-stick in ESSEC business school of Singapore.
