Siliguri undergoes beautification campaign


Siliguri: The State Government is going to play an active role in the beautification of Siliguri. As said earlier, besides Kolkata, two compactors have been roped in for the maintenance of cleanliness in the city of Siliguri.

It was announced before but the project was implemented from Monday. Along with 2 compactors, 5 JCBs and 7 trippers will also be seen on the streets of Siliguri. Previously on January 20, the CM of the State, Mamata Banerjee had inaugurated the project. On Monday, the North Bengal Development minister, Goutam Deb started off with the project.

According to Goutam Deb, many more machines are being imported from Italy and the project is estimated to be of worth 7 crore twenty six lakh rupees. The municipality of Siliguri has been granted a sum of 2 crore 19 lakhs for the betterment of the project.

From now on, the compactors, JCBs and the trippers will be seen taking charge of the cleanliness of the city. It is no doubt a step towards technological development and its implementation.
