Maryland: Three people were killed and one wounded late Tuesday in a shooting a few blocks from the Baltimore campus of the University of Maryland, according to the Baltimore Sun.
There was no immediate indication that any of the four were students at the campus, which includes the university’s law and medical schools.
According to the campus police, the shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. in the 900 block of W. Fayette Street, near Poppleton Street. The intersection is in a residential area of modest two- and three-story brick houses.
In the incident, campus police said, two vans pulled to the side of the road. One person got out of each of the vans, and opened fire at a group of people on the corner.
Baltimore police said two of those shot were male and two were female. The matter was under investigation early Wednesday.
