Shootout at Raiganj University, One Injured

Raiganj: Situation turned violent in West Bengal’s Raiganj University North Dinajpur district on Friday as alleged outsiders attacked Congress affiliated student organization Chatra Parishad leader.

As per reports, around 12:00 pm a group of alleged Trinamool workers stormed the University campus and shot Arka Kar Roy, a Chatra Parishad activist. The attackers also hurled bombs and created panic in the campus.

The injured has been rushed to Raiganj district hospital. A huge police force has been deployed in the campus to contain further escalation of the situation.
