Shooting spree in China leaves 5 dead


Beijing: A shooting spree left five dead and injured five others in China’s Xishibao village of Suning county on Tuesday. As per reports a 40 year old man named Liu Shuangrui, armed with an double barrel hunting rifle, opened indiscriminate fire and shot dead two of his neighbours.

During the incident two police officers were also shot dead by Liu.

Liu, who was trapped in his house, was found dead when police entered the building. The exact cause of his death is not known, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. The injured have been sent to hospitals. Shootout incidents are rare in China, where private ownership of firearms is illegal.
