Shivraj recommends CBI in Vyapam scam


Bhopal: Coming under pressure from all quarters, Madhaya Predesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has recommended a CBI probe into the High Profile Vyapam scam after nearly 48 people connected with the scam died under mysterious circumstances.

Chouhan said on Tuesday that he will be sending a letter to MP High Court with the request to order a CBI probe into the Vayapam scam.

He also said that a request for CBI probe will be made if the matter comes up for hearing in the Supreme Court. He said, “In a democracy, the ruler should be above suspicion. There are questions in people’s minds. People want to know the truth. Questions in people’s minds have to be answered.”

While addressing a press conference in Bhopal, Chouhan said, “I bow my head to people’s wishes. I am sending a request to the high court that CBI should be allowed to investigate the case.”

He also said that he was satisfied with the probe being conducted by the Special Investigation Team which is working under the supervision of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
