Mumbai: Music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan recently underwent angioplasty in a Delhi hospital following a heart stroke. He stated on Twitter that all the ‘procedures were successful’ as he was ‘recovering very well.’
“It was mainly due to exhaustion. Dad underwent angioplasty on the first day itself when he was hospitalised. Thankfully, there weren’t any major blockages. He is recuperating well and the doctors said he would be discharged within a day or two,” Shankar Mahadevan’s son Siddharth told Times of India.
Shankar Mahadevan was scheduled to perform at a charity event in Mumbai later this week but now Sonu Nigam will replace him. Mahadevan’s concert in Rajkot has been called off too due his illness. The singer was last seen performing at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter Sonali’s sangeet on Saturday night.
