New Delhi: Cricketer Mohammed Shami‘s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan said on Tuesday that she had come to visit her injured husband but he refused to meet her. She claimed that the cricketer threatened to see her in court.
“I had come to see Mohammed Shami as he was injured, but he refused to meet me. He threatened me and said ‘I will see you in court now’,” she told reporters.
Shami had met with an accident recently as his car collided with a truck while he was travelling from Dehradun to New Delhi. He had suffered minor injuries to his head.
Hasin Jahan, who had levelled grave charges against Shami and his family members, said recently that she wanted to visit the injured cricketer. She had also said that she loved him because he was her husband.
“My fight is against what he has done to me. But I do not want him to get hurt physically. He may not want me as a wife anymore. But I still feel for him and love him because he is my husband,” Hasin said.
Mohammed Shami has been booked under serious charges, including attempt to murder, based on Hasin Jahan’s complaints. Jahan had also alleged that he was involved in match-fixing. The BCCI probed the allegations and gave a clean chit to the pacer. Due to the allegations, he was not given a central contract; however, after the clean chit, he was included in the list of contract-awardees.
