SFI to hold massive road blockade across the city on Friday

Kolkata: The SFI has called a state wide road blocked on Friday from 01 pm to 03 pm, protesting the brutal police assault on the SFI rally on Thursday.

The left student wing will hold protest rallies across the city on Friday blocking many key junctures like 8B bus stand at Jadavpur, Hazra more, Moulali more and Shyambazar in Kolkata.

Violent clash broke out between SFI activist staging a civil disobedience movement protesting the death of SFI leader Sudipta Gupta, and police at the Rani Rashmoni road in the heart of the city on Thursday.
SFI accused the police of brutally assaulting their peaceful protest.

After taking the reins of state CPM, Suryakanta Mishra chalked out a strategy to reinvigorate the dying party through its decade old maxim of protest and mass agitation.

The police assault on the SFI activist might have played well in the favour of CPM, who finds it a churning issue to regain the ground it lost to TMC and a rising BJP in the state.
