Ten killed, four injured in Deoghar road accident

Deoghar: Ten people including a newly wedded couple were killed and four people were critically injured when the Scorpio in which they were travelling collided head on with a truck on Deoghar-Dumka Highway in Jharkhand.

Deoghar SP P Murgan confirmed the report saying that the group of 14 people was travelling in the car when the accident occurred. The injured have been taken to a local hospital and a few bodies are still stuck inside the wreckage of the car which the police is trying to bring out.

Police have seized the truck but the driver and the helper managed to escape. Murgan said the marriage party was returning to Dumka. “It appears that both the vehicles were at high-speed,” he said.
