Seven days of national mourning on Abdul Kalam’s death


New Delhi: Seven days of national mourning has been announced throughout the country to mourn the death of Former Indian President and ‘Missile Man’ APJ Abdul Kalam. Union Home Secretary LC Goyal announced the decision of the Central Government.

Kalam was at Shillong to deliver a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management there, when he collapsed on the ground after suffering massive cardiac arrest.

He held the position of the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007 and is also known as India’s Missile Man throughout the world. A renowned educationist he was loved and respected by students all over the country.
