Kolkata: Narmade Sansad, a congregation of Hindu seers led by Namdev Das Tyagi alias Computer Baba in Jabalpur, announced its support for the opposition Congress in the November 28 Assembly elections. Now in West Bengal, more than two hundreds saints left BJP and joined congress on Thursday.

BJP leader Sumanth Sadhu khan came to the congress state assembly headquarters. He joined congress with 200 followers. Congress President Somen Mitra handed over the party flag to them.

” When we can give 15 years to the BJP, we can surely give five years to Congress also…” said the godman, who resigned as the MoS in October, accusing the CM of neglecting the cause of river Narmada and the cow.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Aditnath, is one of the main faces. Before the Lok Sabha polls, the observers feel that saints withdrawal from BJP is worried for BJP-RSS coming to power. In addition, NCP leader Swapan Bose and his 75 followers also joined Congress.
