Security enhanced at Belur Math


Kolkata: The state Government enhanced the security of Belur Math after a fire cracker busted on April 3 inside the Belur Math premises leading to tension in the area. The police outpost of Belur Math has been given the status of a Town outpost. 37 policemen will be present at the outpost. The decision of the Home Department was accepted at the cabinet meeting.

The Chief Minister’s secretariat said that since Belur Math is a place of International importance, decision have been taken to enhance the security over there. Apart from that, the boats carring passengers to and from Dwakhineswar always carry passengers more than the permissible limit. A check can also be conducted on the boats now since it has become a town outpost.
