Security Beefed up for CPM Brigade

Kolkata: The usual Sunday calm in Kolkata has shattered as thousands of CPM workers from differen districts starts gathering for the brigade march. Around 10 lakh party workers are expected to participate in the march, said CPM leader Surya Kant Mishra.

Police has deployed heavily and as beefed up the security across the city to thwart any unwanted situation. As per reports, the rallies will be recorded and live streamed to police headquarters at Lalbazar.

Expecting severe traffic chaos busy routes like Park Street, Dharmatala and Central Avenue will be monitored and traffic will be diverted as per situation. Police personnel have been deployed across the route of the rallies.

The Brigade is said to be a show of strength by the CPM for the upcoming 2016 Assembly polls in the state. Jolted by severe defection and dwindling support base the brigade is likely to impart a new lease of like to the party.
