New Delhi: The second day of First National Tribal Festival “VANAJ”-2015 witnessed a new stage when Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram inaugurated its new pack of activities at the Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts on February 14.
Speaking on the occasion the minister said it is just like a visit to past especially in the tribal weekly haats for entertainment as well as purchase of daily need goods from the village markets. He said this week is a unique opportunity for the city dwellers to have a direct contact with their tribal brothers hailing from the far flung areas of our country. The minister said such contact will only generate a feeling of oneness for our diversified cultures and societies.
At the Indira Gandhi National Center for Arts a replica of rural tribal market as well as platform for the cultural presentation is set up where visitors have an access to both the rural crafts, herbs and medicines. All this has been done to to show case the rich diversity of Tribal culture, art, painting, music, dance, tribal medicine, tribal food, and a special attraction- tribal cuisine.
