Scorching sun reduces cops duty hour in Kolkata


Kolkata: As the sun is scorching mercilessly, the Kolkata police decided to provide relief to its personnel by reducing their normal duty hours. As per the reports the traffic police and sergeants will be working for 6 hours against their normal shift of 8 hours from Thursday onwards.

Kolkata police commissioner Surajeet Purkayastha on Thursday met the on duty traffic sergeants at Park Circus. He told that the as many personnel of traffic police suffered sun stroke, the decision was taken.

He also said that proper gear to tackle the blistering sun like sun glasses, Glucose water and umbrella would be provided to the traffic cops.
