Sasikala Delays Surrendering, To File Review Appeal


Update: Sasikala likely to delay surrendering. Her legal team are moving SC on Wednesday. She will seek 4 weeks time and are mulling options to stall arrest.

Update: Sasikala may not surrender to Judicial Magistrate in Bengaluru on Tuesday as she hasn’t received a copy of the SC Verdict. She will seek legal course of action, a decision taken after meeting AIADMK MLAs in the resort.

Update: Section 144 imposed in Koovathur. Team Panneerselvam heads back to Chennai after prohibitionary orders imposed.

Update: Panneerselvam’s supporters including Pandiarajan have been blocked at the Kovalam junction ahead of the Golden Bay resort fearing law and order problem.

Chennai: Top cops of Tamil Nadu police have reached the Golden Bay resort where Sasikala is meeting the AIADMK MLAs. Kancheepuram Police will take Sasikala into custody. She will surrender in Bengaluru’s magistrate court.

Later she will be taken into Bengaluru court, where she will surrender. She has been sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment and can’t contest for the next 10 years. Karnataka High Court’s acquittal has been set aside.

She will be kept in room number 48 in Bengaluru prison.A team of Tamil Nadu has gone to Bengaluru police to look into the security arrangements in the prison.

Sasikala’s camp had sent a letter to Governor seeking stake to form government.The path has been cleared for Governor to decide.

AIADMK MLAs from Sasikala’s camp have been spotted coming out of the resort and will be going to the Governor. They said that they have numbers and claimed Panneerselvam as traitor. They fear a law and order problem if Panneerselvam reaches the resort.

Police have been in high alert around the resort area.

Meanwhile, Panneerselvam’s faction is heading towards Golden Bay resort In Koovarthur on a ‘rescue mission’ to broker peace. Panneerselvam himself will head to the Secretariat.
