Saradha Scam: TMC Legislators Under CBI Scanner


Kolkata: The ghost of multi-crore Sardha scam is haunting the ruling Trinamool government in west Bengal as many of its leaders including transport minister Madan Mitra and MP Kunal Ghosh are spending time behind the bars for their alleged role in the scam.

As per reports, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to grill several Trinamool leaders and law-makers for their alleged role in the chit-fund scam including Rajarhat-New town MLA Sabyasachi Dutta and Dibbendu Adhikary, while Tapas Paul and Shtabdi Roy will again have to face the bureau, officials said.

Trinamool MLA from Contai, Dibbendu Adhikary is facing the barb after CBI issued notice to Contai Municipality seeking details on clearance given to Saradha housing complex under its area, during the tenure of Dibbendu as the municipality chairman.
