New Delhi: Former India and Railways all-rounder Sanjay Bangar has been appointed India’s head coach for the short limited overs tour of Zimbabwe.
India play three ODIs and three T20s in Harare starting June 11. The squad, comprising young and upcoming players, will be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Bangar was India’s batting coach under team director Ravi Shastri till the World T20 held at home in March and April this year. (Watson backs Dravid to become Team India coach)
Meanwhile, Abhay Sharma, who recently worked with the India Under-19 and A teams, has been named fielding coach. The Boord of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will appoint a full-time coach soon.
