New Delhi: If you’re wondering what March 19 – the day India plays Pakistan in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament – is going to look like, here’s a little preview of sorts. And it’s brought to you by none other than tennis’ golden child Sania Mirza and her husband, cricketer Shoaib Malik.
In a new Pakistani ad that’s going viral, Indian Sania and Pakistani Shoaib are shown trying to one up the other by naming the best things about their respective countries. “Amritsar ke laddoo,” offers Sania, “Multan ka son halwa,” is Shoaib’s counter-offer; “Shimla ki sardi,” tries Sania again. “Islamabad ki baarish,” comes Shoaib’s reply.
And obviously, the discussion makes its way to cricket as well. “Sachin ki straight drive,” declares Sania. “Shoaib Akhtar ke yorkers,” is Shoaib’s riposte.
The bickering goes on for a while as neither is ready to settle the happy dispute. So is there a point of agreement eventually?
We’ll let you watch the video below to find out.
The result may be a slight let down, but Sania and Shoaib are totally adorable in the commercial.
