Subhendu Bhattacharya, Coochbehar: The scrapping of notes of Rs.500,1000 are adding on to the people’s plight across India. Serpentine queues can be spotted outside banks even on the 9th day.
The SBI Main Branch of Coochbehar have been witnessing the similar scenario since long. Banks were advised to allow senior citizens, disabled persons to form separate queues. However, it has not come to effect. Even they are have to wait alongside others for cash conversion.
In a noble move, BJP MP Roopa Ganguly, on Thursday morning distributed water bottles to the people thronging outside banks. They were moved by Roopa’s gesture. She even clicked selfies with some young fans.
