Salman Supports FTII Students, Asks Gajendra to Step Down

Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan on Thursday was the latest in a long list of Bollywood celebrities to come out in support of the agitating Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) students, who, for nearly two months now, have been demanding the removal of actor and BJP member Gajendra Chauhan as the institute’s chairman.

“He (Chauhan) should listen to the students and step down,” Salman said during an interaction with reporters in Mumbai. Gajendra, best known for playing Yudhishthir in epic TV series Mahabharata apart from a series of B and C grade films, hit back, saying it is for the government to decide whether he should go or not.
