Mumbai: A few days ago, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar announced that Priyanka Chopra has walked out of his upcoming movie Bharat that features Salman Khan as the male lead. After the news broke, it was reported that Salman is upset with the actress and has vowed to never work with her again. However, Salman’s father Salim Khan in a recent interview has revealed that the actor is not upset with Priyanka for leaving the film.
Ali in his tweet revealed that the 36-year-old actress will not be a part of the movie anymore because of her romantic involvement with the American singer Nick Jonas and hinted that the duo might get married soon. While, Ali let go of Priyanka on a happy note, multiple reports claimed that Salman is very upset because of Priyanka’s decision.
However, Salim Khan in an interview with Spotboye said that whatever happened is okay and such things happen in the industry. Stating that the Sultan star is not upset with Priyanka, he further said, “Nope, it’s not the nth hour. And I repeat, such things happen- sometimes they happen for date issues, or the role, or even the money aspect. Aur kabhi aadmi ki kuch apni majbooriyan hoti hai. I haven’t yet got into the details of why Priyanka left Bharat, but we shall soon cast someone else. We are not upset with Priyanka. Salman Khan is also not upset.”
Salim also added that anyone can replace her as there are many people in the industry, reports Spotboye.
After Priyanka’s exit, it is being claimed that Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez have been approached for the role, but no confirmation has been given yet.
Based on the 2014 South Korean drama Ode to My Father, the movie also stars Tabu, Nora Fatehi and Disha Patani in lead roles. Bharatis being co-produced by Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri and is slated for an Eid 2019 release.
Meanwhile, Priyanka, who recently wrapped up the shoot for her third Hollywood movie Isn’t It Romantic, is now working on Shonali Bose’s upcoming movie The Sky Is Pink. The film also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in lead roles.
