Salim Khan refuses to accept Padmashree

Mumbai: Veteran script-writer Salim Khan has refused to accept Padmashree Award. He is considered to be one of the best script writers of the 70s who had delivered consecutive hit movie dialogues.

Along with Javed Akhtar, Salim created history with master piece dialogues in movies like Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewar, Don, Haathi mere Saathi, Kranti, Kala patthar and Mr.India.

Salim said that the Padmashree award should have been dedicated to him long back and receiving it now would be a big mistake.

He alleged that although colleagues junior to him had received the award much earlier, his contribution towards Bollywood was massive.

Not only Salim Khan, but eminent personalities like Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Art of Living founder Ravi Shankar have also refused the Padmashree.
