Russia Holds Drills involving Missile Launches

Moscow: Russia says its military forces have conducted exercises, including long-range missile launches, across the country.

According to the reports, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Friday that the military exercises included ballistic and cruise missile launches from various ground sites.

The sea and air maneuvers are said to be one of the largest such maneuvers this year. The drills included the launch of a Kalibr cruise missile from a Russian warship in the Caspian Sea.

Earlier this month, Russian warships launched over a dozen such missiles at positions of the Takfiri Daesh terrorists in war-torn Syria. Moscow began airstrikes against Daesh in Syria on September 30 upon a request from the Syrian government.

The military exercises come against the backdrop of a dispute between the West and Moscow over the issue of conflict in eastern Ukraine.
