New Delhi: The activists who had campaigned for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNRGA) has alleged that the NDA Government at the Centre not allotting adequate funds to the project.

The activists through the usage of RTI Act have come to know that the budgetary allocation for the scheme is Rs 34,000 crore for 2014-15.

227 crore person days of work had been approved by the Ministry which requires Rs 60,000 crore at the rate of Rs 270 each person day, but the allocation clearly shows a dip in the allocation by nearly 45 per cent for the scheme. The allegations have been put forward by People’s Action for Employment Guarantee on Monday.
