Srinagar: Separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday said that the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sang is conspiring to convert Jammu and Kashmir a “Hindu state” and added that the challenge must be accepted.
“RSS is an ideological party. They want to turn Jammu and Kashmir into a Hindu state,” Geelani said at a seminar on ‘RSS plans and our responsibilities’ organised by the Hurriyat. “This ideological fight can be responded with ideology,” he said.
Geelani further said they would not have had any problem with RSS “if they would have come forward with arguments”. “They want to implement their programmes through power. They are not going to succeed because their plans are against humanity, against nature,” he added.
Renowned academic Sheikh Showkat said RSS has an open policy on Kashmir, “Mohan Bhagwat has clearly said that India should adopt same policy in Kashmir as China adopted in Xinjiang.”
Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmed said that fake permanent certificates have been issued to lakhs of people to alter the demography of Kashmir.
