Rose valley scam: Kundu Threatens Hunger Strike


Jalpaiguri: Complaining abuse by the jail authorities arrested Rose valley Chief Goutam Kundu has threatened to stage a fast until death, during his appearance before the Jalpaiguri court. In his compliant he said, “I am an Industrialist but am being treated like a thief and was stashed in a cell with them.”

In his protest, Kundu banged his head on an iron gate at the Jalpaiguri Court jail and injured his head. He said, “My death will cast gloom on lakhs of depositors. Even if I have to bleed, I will return the money of people.”

Pleading for a period of three days, Kundu pledged to return the investors money. He had appeared in court based on a complaint made by Jalpaiguri based depositor Sunil Kumar Majumdar.

Mazumdar accused the company of siphoning off Rs. 2 lakh 60 thousand as promised during investment. A case against Gautam Kundu has been registered under section 419 and section 420 at the kotayali Police Station.
