Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to produce its first charge sheet in connection with the Rose Valley Scam in the court towards the end of April.
The charge sheet will probably name seven people including the CEO of Rose Valley Group, Gautam Kundu, and actor-MP Tapas Paul, who are already behind the bars for their alleged involvement in the chit fund scam. As per sources, a leading Tollywood actress is likely to be mentioned in the chargesheet too.
The Rose Valley scam which is considered one of the biggest scandals in India has to its credit the investments of thousands of small investors who were allegedly cheated. The scandal saw its growth day by day with the involvements of political top brass.
After Manoj Kumar the ED Officer who failed to appear for the investigation in connection with the scam, Suvra Kundu, wife of Rose Valley Group owner Gautam Kundu has also been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate at Salt Lake’s CGO complex earlier. Kumar, the nodal investigating officer of the Rose Valley Scam, also has money laundering charges against him.
On The Rose Valley Scam CBI arrested TMC MP Sudip Bandhopadhyay and later he was interrogated by the CBI several times.
