Diamond Harbour: Post result violence still continues in West Bengal to which BJP leader Roopa Ganguly fell a victim on Sunday.
Roopa Ganguly was attacked allegedly by TMC goons in Kakdwip’s Majhipara village on her way back after visiting an injured BJP worker. With heave injuries in her head and waist, she has been rushed to the Diamond Harbour hospital where primary treatment has already begun. Her car was ransacked too. Roopa Ganguly has accused TMC men of assaulting her.
As per reports, a woman and her father’s clothes were stripped off and beaten brutally on Saturday at Iswarpur in Diamond Harbour. They were attacked as the woman was an agent of the BJP during the Bengal Assembly polls. They are under treatment at a hospital. BJP leader Roopa Ganguly went to visit the injured and on her way back, she and her aides were attacked allegedly by TMC goons. She was hit hard with a stick due to which her head suffered heavy injuries. Apart from her, her supporters, activists from the BJP party have been injured too.
In reaction to this incident, National Secretary of BJP said,” After winning with such a huge support of people, such an act of vandalism proves the kinds of people who are involved in running the party. I would like to say to the party’s supremo to not make false promises, instead bring the anti-socials in the right path. This is completely against the democracy.”
But the TMC party has completely denied all such allegations and said that this was a result of an internal clash between BJP activists. The TMC party has no relation or link to the incident. Top-leaders of the BJP are already on their way to see their injured leader. A huge police force has reached the spot.
Violence has been observed since the declaration of the assembly poll results. On Sunday morning, chaos and tension spread in Panchasayar due to a clash between TMC-CPM workers. 17 people were arrested this morning.
