Rio’s Closing Ceremony


Rio De Janeiro: The Rio 2016 Olympics has finally reached its concluding stages as the closing ceremony is set to get underway on August 21, Sunday, in Rio. But Indian viewers will have to wait till Monday morning to witness the final moments of this year’s Olympics.

The closing ceremony will be held at the famous Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The stadium also held the Opening ceremony of the Rio Games. With a seating capacity of at least 80,000, the ceremony saw more than 6,000 volunteers take part in the show. After all the chaos, funding problems, and protests surrounding the Rio Games, Brazil managed to pull off an extravagant show on the opening day.

The closing ceremony promises to be no different. For Indian television audience, the option is to tune into Star Sports or Star Sports HD.

Star Sports is the official broadcaster of the Olympics in the Indian sub-continent and the biggie will be making good use of its website to broadcast the content, albeit slightly delayed, to the world at large.
