Kolkata: As Pingla was rocked by a massive blast at a suspected bomb making factory at Pingla in Midnapore district, killing 12 people on Wednesday night, the state Human Rights Commission jumped into the fray.

The commission has sent a directive to Midnapore police super, seeking a report on the incident within four weeks. The commission had sought clarification on the authenticity of the factory. It also asked a report on how the slain youth got employed in the factory.

Putting a question mark on the security set up in the state, the commission asked how such a large stock pile of explosives was accumulated in the place.
