Kolkata: A young research scholar with the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) was found dead mysteriously in the lawn of ZSI’s national headquarters in New Alipore on Monday evening. It was not yet confirmed whether it was a case of suicide or accidental fall.
A security guard noticed Arpan Parui (32) lying in a pool of blood in the lawn Around 6.30pm.
Parui was last seen working on his laptop from his seventh floor office in the 10 storey building.
A research scholar was working on hymenoptera a subject that deals with insects. Those who knew him said he was excited about joining ZSI. Parui was also writing a book on the ants of Bengal. Police has sent his body for post mortem. No suicide note however was found.
