New Delhi: Finally, a reason to smile for the Football fanatics of Kolkata. The much awaited Derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will take place on Feb 17.
It was scheduled to be held on Feb 11 but as the Bidhannagar Police had said that they will be not be able to provide adequate police personnels for the Big Match, the host team East Bengal had to cancel the I-League’s first Derby. Previously, the Derby was to be held on the twenty fifth day of the previous month. Due to Saraswati Puja, the police had cancelled it.
After a meeting with the I League officials and the AIFF, East Bengal has been granted another date on Feb 17 to host the arch rivals Mohun Bagan at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan.
